Modeling users’ navigation history
نویسنده
چکیده
A lot of recent research has focused on methods of modeling Web users and on efficient ways to initialize and manage user models. In this paper, we present a new user modeling technique relying on a temporal, graph-based data model for semistructured information. Our technique can be used to filter WWW information and to make the Web experience personalized for the individual user. Moreover, such graph based data model also offers appropriate query languages, which allow user-defined queries either over the whole web site or over the personalized user site views.

Modeling users on the World Wide Web based on cognitive factors, navigation behavior and clustering techniques
This paper focuses on modeling users’ cognitive styles based on a set of Web usage mining techniques on user navigation patterns and clickstream data. Main aim is to investigate whether specific clustering techniques can group users of particular cognitive style using measures obtained from psychometric tests and content navigation behavior. Three navigation metrics are proposed and utilized to...

I present a research framework and some tools developed as part of an ongoing effort into defining and using interaction history as part of a user interface for social navigation, which is the process of using traces left by past users to help current users find and understand informa-
متن کاملMission-Based Navigational Behaviour Modeling for Web Recommender Systems
Web recommender systems anticipate the information needs of on-line users and provide them with recommendations to facilitate and personalize their navigation. There are many approaches to building such systems. Among them, using web access logs to generate users’ navigational models capable of building a web recommender system is a popular approach, given its non-intrusiveness. However, using ...
متن کاملModeling the Relationships between the Users Db and the Web-log File of a Large Virtual Community
In this paper the analysis and modeling of a large data-set related to a very popular Italian virtual community is presented. The community is constituted by more than half-million registered users, characterized by a unique nickname. Each user has its own “profile”, which is filled during the registration procedure, on a voluntary basis. Two data-sets are used: the database of the users (nickn...
متن کاملHoptrees: Branching History Navigation for Hierarchies
Designing software for exploring hierarchical data sets is challenging because users can easily become lost in large hierarchies. We present a novel interface, the hoptree, to assist users with navigating large hierarchies. The hoptree preserves navigational history and context and allows one-click navigation to recently-visited locations. We describe the design of hoptrees and an implementatio...
